Duties and Responsibilities

As an automotive technician at Findlay Kia, you will be expected to attend training classes and keep updated with all factory technical bulletins. In addition, you will need to perform the following duties:

• Take client vehicles to the stall area after receiving repair orders from the dispatcher.
• Diagnose any malfunctions on the repair order and perform service as authorized.
• While performing maintenance on the vehicle, you must follow Kia factory and dealership standards and abide by federal, state, and local regulations and laws governing service work.
• Alert the service advisor if you need to perform additional work, if the requested work is not needed, or if the service will take longer than expected.
• Administer safety and housekeeping policies, including keeping client vehicles clean.
• Document service work that you have performed, quality check your work and perform a road test of the vehicle as necessary to ensure that any customer complaints have been addressed and fixed.
• Communicate with the parts department for any service that requires parts. If you are performing warranty work, or if the client has requested that the parts be saved, you will also need to tag the parts and turn them in.
